SUZUKI HAYABUSA 2014 COMPLETE REVIEW

Overview With its big 1340cc four-cylinder engine, freakish acceleration and swollen, randomly bulging body work, the 2014 Suzuki Hayabusa is excess personified. In a classic case of vehicular one-upmanship the Hayabusa debuted in 1999 specifically to unseat the Honda CBR 1100XX Super Blackbird as the fastest production motorcycle of the time. From those ballsy beginnings the big Suzuki has carried on as a prime choice for those who prize speed above all else…even if the modern iteration is artificially limited to a mere 186 mph

What’s Good

  1. Accelerates incredibly quickly in all gears
  2. Stable at speed
  3. Intuitive gauges and controls
  4. Looks flashy…if you’re into that sort of thing

  5.  What’s Bad
  6. Sportbike ergonomics grow tiresome on long rides
  7. Not as nimble as 1-liter sport bikes
  8. Styling is polarizing
  9. At nearly 600 pounds it’s heavy and feels it

The Price
The Suzuki Hayabusa rings in at $14,599 with your choice of metallic gray/black or red/ white paint schemes. A 50 anniversary model is also offered for $15,199, sporting limited edition black and red paint. Buyers tempted to make their bikes even more distinct can spring for a variety of Suzuki brand accessories.

REVIEW
competitor in the compact-sedan segment. And though its rivals keep getting safer, more stylish, and more technologically advanced, the four-year-old Cruze still compares well with them, with great refinement, a lovely interior, and its own conservatively styled body. This year, it joins the VW Jetta in the segment by offering a new fuel-saving powertrain: a turbodiesel four- cylinder, the first diesel engine in any Chevrolet passenger vehicle since 1986. Competitors include an entirely new Toyota Corolla, a Ford Focus that will receive styling updates and several new features for 2015, and a Honda Civic that was all-new in 2012 but then extensively updated just one model year later. Unlike the single body style of theCruze, the Hyundai Elantra now has three different body styles-- sedan, coupe, and hatchback--and that lineup continues to sell as fast as they hit dealers. Only the Dodge Dart has fallen short of expectations among compact sedans.

renault duster AWD complete review

Finally, the wait is over. Renault has confirmed that in the next couple of months, you could actually walk into their showrooms and write off that cheque for a Duster 4x4. It’s called the Duster AWD and in essence, that’s what it is – an all-wheel drive version of the regular Duster that can send power to all four wheels when the situation demands. Is it worth the wait? Oh yes it is. In fact, this is the best thing that could have happened to the compact SUV, apart from an auto variant, which the company is tight lipped about. So for now, it’s only the new Duster AWD that will go on sale at the onset of the festive season and we were the lucky ones to try out the tools that make this Duster stop at nothing. First up, the AWD. Unlike thetraditional 4x4 mechanism, there isn’t an option of engaging the 6-speed gearbox into low-range, instead, you get an electronically controlled AWD system that could be engaged on-the-fly with the help of a knob. You could slot it inpermanent 2WD mode for your regular urban commute where it works like an ordinary front-wheel driven Duster, or switch to Lock mode, wherein the torque is equally distributed to all four wheels for better traction on tricky situations. This mode can be accessed till the speed of 60kph, after which it automatically switches to Auto mode. Renault has full faith in its AWD system and suggests we switch to Auto when venturing out in the wild as the electronics, when left alone, can do a better job on its own.

The magic numbers
4cyl, 1461cc, turbo-diesel, 108.6bhp, 248Nm, 6M, AWD, ground clearance: 210mm, boot space: 475 litres, Overall kpl: 19.72 (claimed), RxL: Rs 13.3 lakh, RxZ: Rs 14.5 lakh (est. on-road, Mumbai)

The verdict New
off-road tools add to the Duster’s overall character. The AWD mechanism works well in most situations and allows you to have some fun out in the wild. However, don’t get too carried away, it’s not going to win you those hardcore challenges off the tarmac.

hyundai i20 Elit e (car of the year) complete review

Hyundai Elite i20 is doing wonder
for Hyundai India and now the manufacturer is goingto launch the Crossover version of the i20. The launch
of the i20 Cross is slated for march. The i20 Cross is based on the new Elite i20 and apart from a full body cladding, roof rails, projector headlamps with
daytime running lights and LED tail lights with revised front and rear bumper will differentiate it from the
hatch. With the rugged look company might offer bigger 17-inch alloy wheels to add more to its sporty stance.
Under the skin the Cross will share the same 1.2-litre Kappa2 and 1.4-litre CRDi diesel engine. Hyundai is planning to launch the car in second week of March, which will also be its global debut.

Interior & Space The idea with the Elite i20 is to go premium. And it's obvious in the way the dashboard has been designed. Like most expensive cars, the face of the dash - finished in a lighter shade to make it standout - is  one continuous slab that gives a wrap around feel thanks to the same colour being carried over to the door. It looks upmarket, no doubt, and with better finish and quality of materials all round, Hyundai sure has achieved that step up in premium feel. And it isn't just a good looking design this, it's well thought out too. The instrumentation is neat and easy to read; the stereo is nicely integrated into the centre console; and though the climate control system looks old as Hyundai as carried over the buttons and knobs and even the fonts from the previous car, it is well located. So, using it while on the move, isn't a hassle. Moreover, besides good ergonomics, Hyundai has done well on the operability front too. The buttons have a positive spring back action, these are logically placed and feel rich to the touch.

mini cooper to be lunched in india

The iconic Mini hatchback has returned in a completely new avatar. Launched in early 2014, the Mini (codenamed F55) is based on the UKL1 platform which it shares with the soon-to-be launched BMW 1 Series tourer. It carries over the iconic design of the BMW penned Mini that accompanied the the car into the modern generation. The new car which is already on sale in most European markets is being launched in India on November 19, both in the three-door and five-door petrol variants.

The 2014 Mini carries over most of the design the previous car like the hexagonal grille and round headlamps but is now longer by 98mm, wider by 44mm and 7mm taller than the previous model. These extra dimensions have translated into an extra wheelbase of 28mm and a more spacious boot. Mini is also offering a large number of alloy wheel options which each give the car a unique appearance when looked at from the side.

While the fascia has remained pretty much the same, the side profile has the same lines but now appears much bigger thanks to the increased dimensions. The rear end too has been mostly retained from the previous car but now the lamps have become wider, the reflector has got a different shape and the single piece chrome exhaust tip has moved from the right side to the left side. The Mini will continue to retain its classic design due to itsheritage and classic appeal.

Price
It is expected to be priced in the range of Rs 30 lakh to Rs 40 lakh and will be brought to the Indian market via
the CBU route.

hyundai i 20 cross (new)

The i20 Cross differs from the regular Elite i20 in a lot of ways. Externally, the cross version gets you roof rails, skid plates, body cladding and new look alloy diamond cut wheels. We also feel that Hyundai might raise the overall ground clearance of the car and make the suspension a bit stiffer than the current version of the Elite i20. The i20 Cross might also get projector headlamps along with branding of the Cross all around the car. We may also see LED Daytime Running Lamps (DRLs) under the headlamps of the car. The lower front-bumper of the car will be changed accordingly and will share a lot more aggressive look than the Elite i20's premium looks. The rear may remain the same as the Elite i20 but with work done to the lower bumper of the Cross version.

Hyundai will plonk the same engine options that are currently being offered with the Elite i20. The petrol engine is a 1.2-litre four-cylinder block whihc churns a maximum of 83 PS and 144 Nm of maximum torque., while the diesel version is powered by the 1.4litre CRDi engine with maximum power of 90 PS along with 220 Nm of torque. An automatic version is also on cards but Hyundai will launch it later after seeing therespsonse for the Hyundai manual versions. Hyundai i20 Cross will be sold as a premium product, hence, Hyundai may think of omitting the base version of the car so that it can offer more features in the car. The variant to variant difference between the Elite i20 and i20 Cross would be around Rs. 1 lakh.
